Did you know that Washington state is a national hotspot for human trafficking? This is due to several factors, including the international border with Canada, an abundance of ports, vast rural areas, and the state’s dependency on agricultural workers. In 2003, Washington was the first state to pass a law criminalizing human trafficking. This horrible crime is ranked as the second most lucrative crime in the world, generating $32 billion each year.
Many inspired people joined the event, taking a stand against this blatant deprivation of human rights. We feel privileged to have supported these motivating race participants, providing healthy snacks for their strong bodies & courageous minds.
